In this economic time, everyone knows how important college is. Leo Catholic High School is taking steps to help their seniors through the college experience.

Leo arranges college meetings once a month for the senior class. In the meetings, Vice President, Mr. Wilson and Counselor, Ms. Curta explain frequently asked questions about college applications.

They have covered the common application, which is the application that can be submitted to multiple colleges and universities. They also covered questions about the American College test.

Leo has encouraged seniors to take college visits by allowing two days to visit college campuses.

The administration has given Ms. Silva the permission to take students to various college institutions.

Currently, she has taken a group of seniors to Benedictine University, DePaul University and Northern Illinois University.

Hopefully more colleges and universities are coming in the near future.

Not only is the administration scheduling trips to different campuses, but they are also bringing colleges to Leo.

Thus far, Buena Vista University, Cardinal Stritch University, Lewis University, Saint Joseph University, Chicago State University, Robert Morris College, Millikan University and Eastern Illinois have all visited Leo.

Senior Rueben Blackwell said, “I am grateful for the help and attention that I am receiving at Leo.”
